About The Author
Dr. Pierre Kory is a pulmonary and critical care medicine specialist and former Associate Professor and Chief of the Critical Care Service at the University of Wisconsin.
As a critical-care physician, he spent his career at the bedside of multi-organ failure — the cascade in which a single insult brings down one system after another — where the essential skill is refusing to treat each failing organ in isolation and instead finding the one upstream cause behind them all. It is that habit of mind, applied to the world's water and soil, that produced this book.
Before Covid-19, he was widely recognized as a master educator and international pioneer in critical care ultrasonography, winning major teaching awards at multiple academic institutions. During the pandemic, he co-founded and served as President and Chief Medical Officer of the Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), a nonprofit focused on developing and disseminating treatment protocols for Covid-19, and became one of the world's leading clinical experts on the use of ivermectin in Covid-19 — work he chronicled in The War on Ivermectin.
